New Year’s Resolutions

Dear Friends,

First, I have to apologize for not keeping you up to date on all my activities and answering your numerous letters. This fall I took on a job as Office Snoopervisor at Pals For Life, a pet therapy organization, and it has kept me super busy. I go into the office almost every day and have to ride “herd” on both employees and visitors. But wait there is more! Now I have to take care of a cat and two bunnies too! A Snoopervisor’s job is never done.

So as we come to the end of 2021, I decided that I should make a couple of New Year’s Resolutions. Maybe you plan on making some too. Here are the guidelines that I am going to be following so I thought you would like to use them as well.

First make your resolutions for the right reason. Maybe your family and friends think you should do something, but you do not have the desire to do it. That resolution will be broken before the end of the week. Select a goal that speaks to you and your heart.

Start small and be realistic. “I am going to exercise every day for one hour” when you haven’t exercised at all for a year might be a bit too ambitious. When you break that resolution, you become discouraged, and the resolution goes by the wayside. So, start small such as exercising for 10 minutes a couple of times a week. Once you have achieved success with that you can broaden your goals.

When you decide upon your resolution, write it down. Then keep track of your successes and challenges. By writing things down it makes it more real and concrete. And you can see how far you have come.

Finally be kind to yourself. Sometimes when you break that resolution, you feel bad and berate yourself. Hey, we are all human (except for me) and we will have challenges in accomplishing our goals. Just say it is okay and continue on your planned path.

What is my resolution you might ask? I will get back on schedule imparting my wisdom to all my readers. So, keep those letters coming!

Happy New Year!
